PAHs

PAHs certification is a process of testing and certifying products for the presence of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs).

Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a class of organic compounds that contain two or more benzene rings and are widely found in products such as petroleum, coal, asphalt, paints, plastics, and tobacco. These substances are toxic and may be hazardous to human health through prolonged exposure. Therefore, for specific products, such as consumer products, food packaging materials, etc., national and international organizations set limits for PAHs to ensure product safety.PAHs certification is usually carried out by professional testing institutes and involves the testing and evaluation of samples. The testing process may involve techniques such as high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS). If the product complies with the relevant standards and requirements, the testing organization will issue a PAHs certification to prove that the product complies with the PAHs content limits.
